ABOUT

Hi Readers!

I am Amanda Anitra and this is the Miss-Understandings website. As a Mediator, I host a weekly podcast dedicated to advising those with all sorts of relational issues. From issues with spouses & significant others; co-parenting issues; sibling issues; family dynamics issues; bad neighbors; lazy co-workers and just your plain everyday life issues I am here for it all!

Inevitably, in life we all have been misunderstood.  We’ve all experienced arguments or fights dealing with family, friends, co-workers or strangers and this site offers ways to reconcile the differences so that we can live a life well understood!

Living a well understood life is not an easy feat.  After earning a graduate degree in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation, I wanted to be everyone’s Mediator but I had a conflict within my own life.  Life said you already have a job, you have a child, you have a partner, you have an elderly parent and student loans to boot you don’t have the time to  mediate anyone’s life other than your own?  And, I didn’t! Not one mediation session for anyone for almost two years.  I fought with myself about my decision of indolence and decided to take action. Towards the end of 2016 I became a Registered Mediator in Georgia and I haven’t looked back. Launching this site and the Miss-Understandings podcast is how I am living out a well understood life.

I’m a Mediator at heart.  I love helping people see another point of view yet to be  considered.  I love the work of reconciliation, helping people put together the broken pieces of life to create something new and spectacular. This is why I started the Miss-Understandings podcast. My purpose is to encourage storytelling thereby acknowledging the wisdom of understanding.

Grace & Mercy,

Amanda Anitra
